2021.09.25 02:00 NuclearTalon Looking for some to play Wynncraft and/or Calamity Death Mode

Yo, 19 trans girl here. Recently I've been wanting to do a playthough of wynncraft and terraria again, but I find it incredibly boring to play solo, and usually get bored in a few days.
Incase you have never heard of Wynncraft, its a fully built MMORPG in minecraft, with all the classes, quests and loot you would expect. They added raids and raid queue recently but I havent played any of it yet, which is one of the reasons i want to play again.
If you haven't heard of Calamity Death mode its a mod for terraria that adds a lot of new content including enough post moon lord content to match pre-harmode/hardmode. In death mode we will be dying a lot so be prepared for that. With the mod list i want to use it turns terraria into much more of a boss fighting game, but thats what I find fun.
I definitly don't mind playing wynncraft with someone who has never played before, but for the death mode I would prefer that you have at least beaten moon lord on expert, as death mode is a monsterous difficulty increase compared to that, and i dont think you would find it that fun to die over and over while achieving nothing.
Feel free to comment/dm here if you are interested, or add me on discord: HowTpoTypo#6198

2021.09.25 02:00 Dozkon How to Create a Reverse Proxy For Your Foundry Server (Apache on Ubuntu)

How to Create a Reverse Proxy For Your Foundry Server (Apache on Ubuntu) Hello all! As the title says, this post will be a step-by-step guide on creating and starting your own reverse proxy for the server that you run Foundry on (if applicable!)
The main reason why you would want to do this is if you have a domain that you purchased/are going to purchase that you want to use as your main URL for the landing page of your Foundry campaign. Otherwise, you have to settle with a domain that when you type it into the URL, it will redirect to the IP address of your server and still show it above in the URL bar. This is because Foundry by default runs on port 30000 of your server, and browsers by default connect to sites using either port 80 for HTTP requests or port 443 for HTTPS requests. Thus, if you try to use a domain as a "URL stealth" to hide the IP address of your server, it won't work.
That's where a reverse proxy comes in. It basically tells your server that when someone types in a specified domain, it should redirect the traffic from default port 80/443 to port 30000. I'm sure I'm missing some intricacies, but for the purposes of this tutorial that's all you really need to know as background. I'm making this because in my attempt to make a reverse proxy, the Foundry instructions for setting them up were a bit lackluster for someone like me who has never done something like this before lol. (I also have to say: this guide is for using Apache as your reverse proxy on an Ubuntu server, as that is what I used to complete this. Hopefully, the guide will still be helpful to those who have other setups!) This guide will also help with getting your certificates set up on your server using Certbot! As a sidenote, this guide is based off the steps that I used to make this proxy. They most likely won't apply to everyone, but I saw little to no documentation on this online besides what Foundry already had, so I thought to at least contribute what I did on my end that worked!
And as always: BACK UP YOUR SERVER BEFORE ANY CHANGES!!!
With all that out of the way, let's start!

  1. Have your domain ready and set up to be redirected to the IP of your server. When I was doing this, I had gotten a domain from "domain.com". From there I was able to set up a pointer and have my domain point to my server IP. Other domain registrars should let you do this, just in different settings or it might be called something else. Here's an image for reference:
https://preview.redd.it/i2w7q01s3jp71.png?width=942&format=png&auto=webp&s=6289ac48f5742a3060432ad703854b571ff1e294
  1. Test that typing your domain into the URL leads to your Foundry page. When typing in your domain, it should lead to your Foundry login page, just with the IP address still in the URL.
  2. Log in to the shell/terminal of your server. Once you're in and signed in as a user that can use the "sudo" modifier in Linux, start by typing the command below. This should begin the installation of Apache - just make sure to go through any confirmation messages they send.
    sudo apt install apache2
  3. Once Apache is installed, you need to install some plugins. This won't be difficult at all, similar to what we just did before. These plugins will allow us to use ProxyPass and ProxyPreserveHost at later stages. If typing these commands gives you an access denied message, make sure to put "sudo" at the front of the command.
    a2enmod proxy a2enmod proxy_http a2enmod proxy_wstunnel
  4. Once those plugins are installed, we need to add some configurations to Apache's config file. This next part will depend on whether or not you have SSL certificates for your server; I will be explaining how to use Certbot in later steps to create free SSL certificates for you, so I recommend going with the certificate option! In your shell prompt, type the below code. This should open vim, a text editor, in your window.
    sudo vim etc/apache2/apache2.conf
  5. Once inside of the config file, press the letter "I" on your keyboard to begin editing. This is where we are going to paste our Virtual Host configuration so that Apache knows what our domain is and which of our certificates to use. Navigate to around here in the text editor.
https://preview.redd.it/ra8louyz7jp71.png?width=557&format=png&auto=webp&s=2b8df1299d1264c74fd0f82cce54866b07b579f2
  1. Copy the configuration below this step and then paste it into the config file by right-clicking. It should paste everything where you put your start line. (Note: The configuration below contains file directories asking for your domain name and SSL config file. We do not have these yet, but we will once we get to using Certbot.)
Apache .conf for reverse proxy of Foundry Virtual Tabletop. Requires mod_proxy mod_proxy_http mod_proxy_wstunnel for WebSocket support. For Ubuntu and Debian this goes in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf For Amazon Linux, Centos, and RedHat this goes in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf ServerName your.hostname.com
SSL Configuration SSLCertificateKeyFile "/etc/letsencrypt/live/your.hostname.com/privkey.pem" SSLCertificateFile "/etc/letsencrypt/live/your.hostname.com/fullchain.pem" Include /etc/letsencrypt/options-ssl-apache.conf
    Proxy Server Configuration ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass "/socket.io/" "ws://localhost:30000/socket.io/" ProxyPass / http://localhost:30000/ ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:30000/
  2. Wherever it says "your.hostname.com" in the configuration you just posted, replace that with the domain that you are using to redirect to your server's IP from Step 1. For example, if my domain was "foundrycool.awesome", it would look like: "/etc/letsencrypt/live/foundrycool.awesome/privkey.pem". This includes where it says "ServerName" at the top.
  3. Once that is done, save and exit out of the text editor by hitting the escape key on your keyboard and then typing: ":wq!" and hitting enter. This will save the edits you have made to your configuration file.
  4. Now we are going to install and use Certbot to create our certificate. Certbot is an amazing free service that allows us to make our own certificate and still be secure when accessing our website from any browser. We are going to start this off by typing the commands below one after the other after they finish:
sudo snap install --classic certbot sudo ln -s /snap/bin/certbot /usbin/certbot sudo systemctl stop apache2 sudo certbot certonly --standalone
  5. After going through the installation of Certbot, you should get a prompt for your domain name. Enter your domain name here exactly as you entered it for the configurations in Step 8. Using the example from before: "foundrycool.awesome" (Without the quotes!) Then press enter. It should now say that your domain is registered and has a certificate assigned to it.
  6. We are now going to technically reinstall the certificates. This is so we can use the Apache plugin that Certbot comes with to create a config file that we used before in the configuration we pasted into vim. If you type the command below, you should get asked what domain you wish to secure. Enter the same exact one you entered for Step 11. You should then be asked if you want to reinstall or renew your certificate. Select 1 for reinstall.
    sudo certbot --apache
    1. We are now going to start Apache up again. We turned it off in Step 10 so we could allow Certbot to generate its certificate. Type:
    sudo systemctl start apache2
  7. Now we will test if our configuration is ready to be used. Luckily Apache comes with a config tester that tells us if there is something in our configurations that is not going to work. Simply type the command below and hit enter. If it says that syntax is OK, you should be good to go! If an error does pop up, it should tell you what is wrong with the configuration.
    sudo apachectl configtest
  8. If your configuration is all set, restart your Apache one last time for good measure. Lastly, we want to tell Foundry that we have a proxy port created with Apache and that traffic will be redirected through it. To do this, we need to edit the options JSON file found in "/home/usefoundrydata/Config". For this I recommend using WinSCP because it's a lot friendlier than vim, but either way, you want to edit the settings in that file to the settings below, changing "your.hostname.com" accordingly.
"hostname": "your.hostname.com", "routePrefix": null, "sslCert": null, "sslKey": null, "port": 30000, "proxyPort": 443, "proxySSL": true
  9. Once that is done and saved, restart your server and try using your domain as a URL in any browser. You should now be able to get to your login page using just your domain, and the IP address of your server should no longer appear! More than that, your site should now be secured using the certificates we created before!
And those are the steps I used to create my reverse proxy! Obviously, this is pretty specific to the specs I used, but I hope that laying it out procedurally might help people get it set up on their own configurations and servers. If you have any questions or come across any errors on my steps, please let me know and I will try to help with the limited knowledge I have! Unfortunately, I won't be able to help on really in-depth server questions or anything - everything I've done up to this point was from just reading documentation online. Below I will list the sources I used, and I wish you all luck on your Foundry forays!

I’ve been seeing some discussion around the idea that bungie will break the fourth wall for one reason or another. If they do this it would ruin the fantasy somewhat for me of being a godkiller and overall feel wonky for the story destiny has had so far. I don’t know just my two cents.

Also where can I get fentanyl testers? I'm freaked out by that shit as everyone is.
